Fair Isle, the Philosopher’s Wool way

The short version

A kit holds the good beginning.

Our sweater collection appeals to knitters for its colourways, designs, and “Philosophery” look. The Fair Isle sweaters are rhythmic and fun to knit, using no more than two colours at a time. As the pattern becomes familiar, your fingers can take over some of the thinking.

New styles and finished sweaters come in from our knitters regularly, so the live catalogue is the best place to check what is ready to order today.

Find your pattern

There is more than one good way in.

The source collection is arranged by experience and by the way you like to build: beginner kits with colouring guides, intermediate and challenging patterns, one-colour-at-a-time designs, side-to-side knitting, children’s kits, vests, and larger home projects.

Category links open the current collection on philosopherswool.ca. Availability changes as new styles and finished sweaters come in.

Ready when you are

Start with a colourway. Let the pattern take it from there.
